Kerford Limestone Company, located in Weeping Water, Nebraska, was founded in 1966 and today is Nebraska's largest and most productive limestone mine. Limestone is what exists beneath most of Nebraska but is mined only in the eastern part of the state because of its quality and shallow depths.
